About Me

About Me

Hey Ya'll,

My name is Shaunna Huhnke and I'm a married, mother of two, residing in Enola, Pennsylvania.

I am passionate about small businesses and web design! No, I did not become "Farmer Girl" because I own a farm - I wish! (LOL) My father and his three brothers did though.

My father's mentor nick-named him, "Farmer Boy." The nickname became the inspiration for my father's business name and having owned his business is an area he grew up in, he is now called that by many! More often than his first name! Working alongside him for years, our business friends and repeat customers starting naturally referring to me as "Farmer Girl." When it came time to name my business, I couldn't think of a more fitting name!

My father started his own business in Duncannon, PA in the 1980's: Farmer Boy Furniture - custom designing Amish made furniture. Like many of his generation, he knew very little about computers - let alone how to create or maintain a website. Knowing however, that he needed one to stay competitive and "current," he had a one-page website created that he never updated after its creation. I called it an "online business card." It had his logo, location and contact information and text about the products and services he provided. It remained like that for decades.

As a young adult, and after some research, I convinced my father to allow me to take over his website. I told him I could make it better and do it for much less while giving us full control and the ability to make constant updates and changes. I made good on that promise.

The initial website I created for my father's business has evolved over the years and now has integrated social media, a subdomain that is an entirely separate e-commerce site, professional e-mail address and SO much more! All of which I created and continue to maintain, along with several social media accounts and review sites

In today's digital world, having an online presence is essential! Smaller, family-owned and operated businesses sometimes don't have the knowledge or skills to take on this task, or someone they can trust to maintain it - others just don't have the time because we're all wearing so many "hats."

It is my pleasure to offer my services, and I look forward to creating new relationships with the small businesses and individuals in my local and surrounding areas.

Let's Work Together!
